This tune, an old Austrian folk melody, has quite a lot of range.
Find a key that will allow you to easily sing both the highest
and lowest notes. The
song is very much ad lib. tempo wise. You can really get dramatic
with the phrases. Probably not a great dance number.
3.)
Here we are moving to the IV chord and to the highest note of the
yodel. You hang the C out a bit and milk the last two notes.
Threre are a couple pick-up notes that go with this phrase. Use those
from the complete yodel below if that helps.
4.) Now
a final razzle-dazzle. The triplets below can be done more than
three times. This depends on how much air you have. Try them really
fast and finish with a C chord arpeggio. C-E-G-C
5.)
After practicing this one in parts try the full yodeler. Find your
breathing spots. A guitar, piano or accordion would be a great
accompanying instrument.
